Hi All,
Just downloaded BikeCad 12.0 to my Ubuntu 14.04 machine... It will not recognize the files, and seems to require me to change the permissions because it hasn't come from the Uduntu Software Centre.
This all seems ok... Except I'm a complete moron when it comes to computers! Can anybody help me with the step-by-step in Terminal to make this happen?

I suspect you may just need to install Java. Have you already done so? If not, there are some instructions at: digitalocean.com/community/tutorials/how-to-install-java-on-ubuntu-with-apt-get .
