Emma Colson is a Sports and Musculoskeletal Physio located in Melbourne Australia.
Emma understands cycling injuries and the body/bike interface not just as a physiotherapist but also from being a competitor at national and international level representing Australia at World Championships and Commonwealth Games.
Emma’s special interest physiotherapy practice involves the comprehensive assessments of cyclists and their biomechanical interaction with the bicycle for the prevention and treatment of overuse injuries and optimisation of rider comfort (Topbike Fit)
Emma has written many articles on cycling overuse injuries for various publications and previously worked at the elite level as Physio to the Australian Women’s Road Cycling Team. Her chapter ‘Biomechanics of Cycling’ Brukner and Kahn’s ‘Clinical Sports Medicine’ is used as a reference book for medical and paramedical professionals world wide.
