BikeCAD Pro How To Forum

Hi *,

I am kind of struggeling to understanding the wheel design dialog box with all dimensions. I am having a hard time to setup a 650 b wheel with 2.4 max. width. From my understanding the width of a tyre is represented by the dimension "w". is my assumption korrekt :) ?

Basically what I am looking for is a discription of the dialog - is there one around? I did not find one or was to blind to find it. Thanks for giving me directions!

Kind regards & cheers,

Alex

Wheel dialog box

Yes, the W dimension controls the width of the tire. The width of the tire is only visible in the auxiliary view which you can show as described at: bikecad.ca/stays_auxiliary_view. Perhaps you were expecting other wheel dimensions to automatically change when the width changes. Although there is often a correlation between the width of a tire and the diameter of a tire, it is dangerous to blindly assume precisely how they are linked. Therefore, you must independently enter values for both width and diameter. This is discussed at: bikecad.ca/tire_diameters.

As for other wheel dimensions, they are all described in the diagrams within the dialog box. If you have specific questions about any of the other dimensions, please let me know.
