I could not find a place to enable thread response notifications, but this should be on by default, the e-mail notifications would make the forum more active and get more people involved.

I have not setup the forums to send out e-mail notifications when there has been activity on a thread. I appreciate knowing this is of interest to you. I will consider adding this option in the future. However, this is not one of the built in features of the forum software I'm using, so implementing this could take some time.
