It's a software feature. Could it be possible to allow BikeCAD to open a file given as argument ?
It will allow to open .bcad files directly in BikeCAD and simplify the workflow for some of us.

Opening BCAD files
I'll investigate this option. In the meantime, be aware that you can also drag and drop BCAD files into the BikeCAD window as described at: bikecad.ca/drag_and_drop.
