BikeCAD Feature Request

Brent,

When designing a Mixte frame sometimes I'd like to join the 2nd S.S. at a point above the dropout on the 1st S.S. Not unlike

this: https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0336/9713/t/25/assets/slideshow_1_1200x.jpg?13158547316030136417

Is that something that could be implemented?

Thanks!

BikeCAD Feature Request

In addition to the side view BikeCAD provides, I'd love to have a top view option. This would help assess the fit of handlebars -- particularly flat ones and styles like the Jones Loop H bar. Of course, that would mean being able to rigorously define the dimensions of these bars so they are displayed correctly. Thanks!

BikeCAD Feature Request

Hello

A cabinet is now possible to buy from frambuildersupply.com, any chance the motor and cabinet could be introduced as a model element in BikeCAD?

Thanks /Jesper, Sweden

Handlebar backsweep in degrees AND mm

BikeCAD Feature Request

When I want to know the impact on Rider position of Handlebar backsweep, I have to adjust value A in the handlebar dimension Dialogue box.
A is measured in mm.
But Handlebar manufacturers always express backsweep in degrees.

Now I have to do some math outside BikeCAD to convert Backsweep degrees into A mm.
Though it is not very difficult to convert degrees into radians, and multiply TAN (backsweep) with half the width of the handlebar, I think life would be easier if that calculation could be done within BikeCAD

Overall length top of head tube to dropout

BikeCAD Feature Request

I am fully aware of the large number of dimensions already available in BikeCAD.
Still I have a request for another dimension.

When I have designed a bike with a headset and fork, it will happen more than once the framebuilder has got to deliver a higher headset or a fork with a higher crown other than designed.
Allterations with effects for head tube length.

Tandem; BTX effective

BikeCAD Feature Request

At the moment I am designing a tandem with a non horizontal Boom tube.
I noticed there was no parametric BTX (c-c) dimension

In BikeCAD we know Top tube length (effective) and Top tube length (c-c)But we only know BTX (effective), though it is called BTX

My request:

  • Please rename BTX into BTX (effective)
  • Introduce a new measure BTX (c-c)

Hi,

Surely there is an easier way to update versions without having to go into each program and cut and paste everything? Why doesn't the app extract the info ad update the new version automatically? It's a bit of a faff!

Mid drive motors conversion kit

BikeCAD Feature Request

Mid drive motor conversion kits like Pendix, Binova, BestBikeebike use motors with a huge diameter.
I have measured the size of a 56T chainring.
According to their marketing language these motors will fit almost every bike.

These motors always have the driving chain in a narrow space between the frame and the motor.
On a tandem the synchronizing chain must also have its place in this narrow space
I would like to make these motors visible in BikeCAD

I have tried with a very thick chain ring.
But did not find the result satisfying.

Tandem; synchronizing chain on drive side

By tandembiker | 2:46 AM EDT, Mon May 07, 2018
BikeCAD Feature Request

Sometimes I want the synchronizing chain on the drive side of the bike.
More than one mid drive motor will only accept a synchronizing chain on the drive/right side of the tandem.
I think this is a useful feature because BikeCAD offers the possibility to create asymmetric chainstays

Question: I could not figure out how to make the synchronizing chain visible in the design.

BikeCAD Feature Request

Hi Brent,

I've been wanting to build forks and I don't have access to a horizontal mill or a vertical mill that has long enough z.

Thanks,

-wins5398
