In my opinion, the big selling point of offers such as bikefitting.com (by Shimano) and Retül is their large frame databases. In the context of Bike CAD, you could use the fit advisor to determine a starting point for the bike geometry, then potentially refine it by putting the rider on a fitting bike and then you could use those databases to automatically create a ranking of the frames that come closest to the target geometry, among all the available frames on the market.

I have recently moved all my business documents into proton drive on mac. Reason being that nothing is currently end ot end encrypted in the UK at the moment due to the British government wanting a back door into peoples computers. When i wan to 'open a design from a bikecad file' I can't find the proton drive folder anywhere. The folder is located under 'locations' in the sidebar and i can access it with other apps, but i can't open or save to it from bikeCAD. Any ideas?

I have uploaded a design from the archive and then amended it and then tried to save it as a template, but every time i re open the app it opens with a differnt template. I have tried dropping the file into the 'bike' folder and same thing happens, yet if i open design from bikecad file it works. Baffled here. I can't understand how the same file can be opened but isn't opening when I select it as a template.

I'm not sure if it is possible somehow, but unfortunately I couldn't find any way to take a kickstand into account. I wanna build a bike with a two-legged stand, therefore I wanted to check the chainstay length, tire clearence, crank clearence etc. Is there some workaround to do this?
Thanks,
Quirin.

Hi,
I recently purchased BikeCAD Pro to design my first frame and found the learning curve very manageble. This is a great piece of software!
When trying to add the dropouts I´d like to use I ran into a bit of an issue. The DR2075 as listed in BikeCAD looks nothing like that dropout as shown on Paragon's website (https://www.paragonmachineworks.com/dropouts/sram-udh/sram-full-mount-ud...).

Hi there,
I've had this issue before with trying to get a stack/reach, front centre/head tube and wheelbase to all add up on a Ribble.
This time it's a Ribble Endurance SL Disc sport size medium (and large) https://www.ribblecycles.co.uk/ribble-endurance-sl-disc-sport/?colour=red

Hey Brent,
I'm running into a strange issue. If I set up a bike the way I want it, with "stock" components that I've created myself (fork, h-bar, stem, crank) and I save the file, quit and re-open it, the stock components switch to something different. You'll also notice that some of the dims placement switch (e.g. wheelbase)
Below are screen shots of how I just saved the file and what it looks like when i re-open it.
Image with 418 A-C is what I've designed. Image with 367 A-C is what opens up again.
