BikeCAD Pro How To

If you've got a question about using BikeCAD Pro, the stand alone application for frame builders, bike shops and fit specialists, post it here.

Hey Brent,

Love the software and been using it so long that I often overlook cool features.

Having recently discovered the design archive, I'd like to be able to study designs using my copy of BikeCad Pro.  Is there a way to simply download the design rather than viewing it in the free viewer.  That way I can study based on all the measurements most importaqnt to me.

Let me know.

Thanks

Hi guys,

I'm not sure if my request or something similar already exists, but I couldn't find it in the forum.

Since I'm pretty new to bikecad I don't know all the functionality and where to find all the options. I'm trying to create wide seat stays on a gravel bike, to fit 29x2,3 tires. For that I want to add extra tubes from the seat tube to the seat stays (like in the picture). I found the option for extra tubes, but I can't fit it the way I want it. Is there any other option I'm missing?

Thanks for your help!

A short customer wants to run a 175mm dropper in the hardtail I'm building for him. I want to accurately model the dropper post to make sure the seat tube length and bend in the seat tube can accommodate such a long post.

What does value A refer to in the dropper post dialogue? I assume it's to adjust the distance from center of rails to the top of the dropper's stroke. But I can change that number to anything and it doesn't affect the drawing.

Hi all,

I am trying to enter Columbus Zona CX double s-bend chainstays data in bikecad but I can figure how to enter the right values for B and D.

Not sure about the rest also :-

Please can someone help?

Here is the columbus datasheet  here : https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0336/9713/products/ZON114OV425133CR-1_...

How much overlap between the dropout tab and the chainstay/seatstay is built in to the drawing? Is there a way to adjust this overlap?

Is it possible to add a split chainstay yoke to both drive and non-drive sides.  When I currently choose a one sided yoke I only see the possibility to add it to driveside only.  I can probably work around this but it would be nice if it was possible.  Thanks.

With standard 142mm TA we are using the traditional 135mm spacing for the distance between the dropout inner surfaces as our design reference. What about Boost 148mm spacing, do I use 141mm (135 +7) or do I use the full 148?

Is there a way to add drop out designs into BikeCAD Pro? I have engineering drawings of them so wondered if there was a way of inputting the information so when exported to FreeCAD the bike would look more representative of the final product

Happy to put in the leg work, just wanted to know if it was possible and what format the information needed to be in

Is there a quick check available to ensure that the wheel/tire combo does not contact the downtube under full fork compression?

Hi Brent,

I saw the topic have been discussed few years ago. Have you consider the possibilty to draw truss forks (like jones bikes) on bike cad?

It would be very nice to have the possibility to draw the whole bike with truss forks on bike cad.

Thanks

Louis
