BikeCAD Feature Request

Hi Brent,

I'm designing a new Jig for my welding tablec cause I sold my old one, and I wonder if you could add the angle of the Head tube bottom (Direct) Dimension? This would help me a lot. Or can it be found somwhere else and I simply din't find it yet?

Thanks Patrick

BikeCAD Feature Request

Hello Brent,

I'd like to put a request on the 'to do one day' list please. I'm using a Reynolds chainstay (FX2500) and I've included top & side view photos for reference. In BikeCAD, I can control the oval characteristics of the CS, but as the screen grab below shows, without an "HT" (assuming "T" is "VT") I am unable to control the width of the CS to accurately model the chainring & tyre clearance.

Suspension fork dimension options

It's possible that I'm overlooking this, but I don't see anything in the custom fork (suspension) area that allows me to input the distance from the center of the steerer to the outside edge of the adjuster knob (down tube crash zone). If it's truly not there, it would be most welcome. Or even just to be able to display that measurement from the fields we already have (so we can tweak the drawings to get to that point) would be most welcom.

BikeCAD Feature Request

Hi,

Would it be possible to add the chainstay angle calculated betwen the center line of seat tube and the center line of the chainstay (center of the BB to center of rear axel)

This measurement is specified by Shimano and is usualy requiered to determine proper front derailleur

thanks

toe clearance

BikeCAD Feature Request

Hi

Would it be possible to add a way to calculate toe clearance as specified in EN and ISO standard.

4.13.2.2 Toe clearance

Bicycles shall have at least C clearance between the pedal and front tyre or mudguard (when turned to any position). The clearance shall be measured forward and parallel to the longitudinal axis of the bicycle from the centre of either pedal axle to the arc swept by the tyre or mudguard, whichever results in the least clearance (see Figure 5). The values are given in Table 11 (see attached image).

Seems odd that there isn't a frame number field / box in the title block layout. I know I can put it notes, but think the field would be a good fit with the customer details. Also help me not forget put it in!!

Thanks

Sorry if it's already there or somewhere else!!!

Lug mode?

BikeCAD Feature Request

Hi Brent... I was nattering with another amateur builder this week, also a BikeCAD user (Charlie from Christchurch, nice bit of alliteration there) and we agreed that a "lugs mode" would be really useful. Basically, the ability to specify lug parameters (angle really, but the lug design could be important for short head tubes) and fix the design to those. Hopefully that makes sense?

I appreciate this only applies to a subset of BikeCAD users :)

Cheers - Robert...

Setting up something like the 1 2 3 Display Dialog Boxes, but instead of resizing the pane. Have a different zoom setting.

So if you want to look at how altering a dimension or component may look close up of a certain area without zooming in each time.

Thanks

Jase

on screen notes fields too small

BikeCAD Feature Request

Hi Brent,

I have to work with a lot of notes when using BikeCAD for frame drawings. Right from the beginning years ago I wondered why the fields where you have to enter the text of the note are so short and don't grow in length if you increase the width of the "on screen notes" dialog box.

Seatpost Modelling

BikeCAD Feature Request

Hi Brent,

I'm just doing some finessing on a design that features the Shimano SP-7400 seat post. It is only 200mm long so imposes some considerations on the design. I've seen the seatpost insertion dimension here http://www.bikecad.ca/seatpost_insertion but as part of modelling the seat post itself, I wonder if a minimum insertion value would be useful on the seat post design (62mm in this case)? I appreciate this is most likely only relevant to somewhat unusually short seat pillars.

Just a thought :)

Cheers - Robert...
