BikeCAD Pro How To

If you've got a question about using BikeCAD Pro, the stand alone application for frame builders, bike shops and fit specialists, post it here.

Hope all is well Brent.
Quick (basic) question on mitering angles.

I am going to be setting up my new milling machine to start cutting tubes!

Looking at my design it appears there are two angles given...miter angle and interior angle.

Ex:

Top Tube Rear Miter angle: 165.9˚

Top Tube-Seat Tube interior angle: 75.9˚

Whats the difference between the measurements?

To me (based on the visual picture) it seems that I would set up my mill (the vise has a graduated swivel) to the Top Tube-Seat Tube Interior angle.

Hi

BikeCad 10.51 an 11.0 seems to forget the saddle height. If I open a saved file there is always the default saddleheigt no matter what height it was when i saved it. not a big deal but is it a bug or am i making something wrong?

thanks

Patrick

I have just started using Bikecad pro and I love it! I have the latest version. My problem is designing a double integrated seat tube and top tube, like on the Budnitz (see pic). I understand that I have to use a workaround and connect the seat tube to the head tube. That works OK but I then want to adjust the curvature and I can't work out how. I see in an older post that you can adjust a field called tire clearance to change the curvature, but I can't find that. Any help gratefully appreciated.

Was wondering if anyone has had any success generating mitre templates for the junction between a chainstay or seatstay tube and a hooded dropout?

This is a 'nice to have', but I'm mitring these joints by hand and feel that templates for these junctions would defintely speed things up. Will post this in feature requests as well.

Thanks in advance,

Rob

The image in the Rider Anatomy tab of the Rider dialogue doesn't provide enough detail to accurately measure a rider.

How should I be measuring a rider - exactly?

Hi Brent,

Probably a simple question for you.  I recently bought a 17" laptop, running XP, so I can take Bikecad Pro on the road with me.  I bought XP because of another program that only runs on XP.  Anyway, all programs run in the correct aspect ratio, except Bikecad.  It's stretched out a bit.  What can I do to fix this?

Thanks, Neil

Hi - I would like to be able to print the chainstays at 1:1, which will fit on a long A4 page.  Is there some way to get them squared up to the page so they don't need to be rotated after exporting a pdf?  What about a view with only the stays on the page?  That would be great!  Not only for printing, but for designing them it would be nice to just see the stays.

I need to show a design with cantilever brakes showing, and having disc tabs but w/o the actual disc brakes/calipers/rotors visible.

Right now when I turn on any brakes it shows the bike with both Canti's and disc not either or.

Currently I am not showing any actual brakes just the Canti studs and the disc tab.

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Oh, and awesome program keep it up!

Hello i install the new version and now i can't use it

Bikecad pro stop working and crash. The bikecad online version works without any problem.

I'm using windows 7 and the last java version

Hey guys, I just got the pro version just to realise that I can't really do much with it as compared to the free version. I have to add that I own a solidworks software and I have been using that for all my frame designs for the past few months. I was getting fed up with solidworks over angle manipulation problem so I thought I should give bikecad pro a go. after downloading the latest version I notice very few differences to the free version which is of any good to me.
