BikeCAD Pro How To

If you've got a question about using BikeCAD Pro, the stand alone application for frame builders, bike shops and fit specialists, post it here.

I know the exact shape of a handle bar isn't always what is modelled, but is it possible to get a dimension that is the point a handle bar would hit the top tube, back from the head tube?

I’m about to build my 1st carbon frame, and wanted to add a few extra layers in that area.

Thanks,

Chris

Hi Brent,

Is it possible to set the cantilever boss in front of the rear brake - forwards showing - because it’s a big frames  what makes the problems.

Please take a look at the picture.

Thanks

I am a Bikecad pro user and cannot for the life of me figure out how to get paint schemes to show on the frame. I have read all I can in the forum about paint and color and just can't make colors show up on the frame.

MAC user if that matters.

What am I missing?

We recently updated our computer to windows 10 and updated version 11.72 to version 12.5 and noticed many of buttons do not work. I tried re-installing 12.5 multiple times, and still the same problem. I ended up using the 11.72 install file again with 12.5 still installed, and by opening the program using the 11.72 launcher everything works. Is this a known issue?

I was working on matching a toptube curve to a background image I'd imported, and went to the File> menu (intending to >Save). The program hung here, without showing the full File menu dropdown, and without a normal border on said dropdown. All then appeared to be frozen, so I minimized the window, and brought it back, only to see black screen in the drawing field, with the standard menu bar, but still frozen.

I'm trying to model some Nitto Albatross handlebars.  The Custom handlebar window allows me to start from Drop, Mountain, or Bullhorn.  I can't figure out a way to get the dimensions I need starting with any of these.

Help?

Normally in Microsoft Windows 7 Professional, I can add ("pin") an application [shorcut] to the taskbar by right-clicking to bring up an options window (I think MS calls this a 'Jump' window...?).

However, I cannot seem to accomplish this with BikeCAD 12.5 Pro by this method, nor by drag and drop onto taskbar which is the other method afaik.

Any suggestions out there?

Cheers,

Tyler

Can bikecad help me determine the distanse from the center of (frame-plan) the seattube to the braze-on/frontderailleur bolt mounting?

Or is there a simple trick to calculate this?  In my case I use a shimano ultegra with a 43.5mm chainline and I need to know how far from the center of the frame-plan I have to intall the front derailleur braze-on bolt hole.  A qualified guess is 25.0mm but it would be nice to know how to do this calculation incase the chainline changes.(diffrent crankset)

I try to fit an I.S mount for a 140mm Disc rotor on seat stay , but no standard library for 140mm (only for 160 and 180mm).

I can see that the dimentions (G and E) are not changeing when toggling between 160 and 180mm rotor disc.

Will this also be the case with a 140mm rotor?  The I.S mount is the same , but you change the IS to post adaptor?

Hi there,

As a little project for myself to try and get the hang of using BikeCAD Pro, I found a bike I like the look of and got all its available dimensions as seen in the attached picture.  I'm wanting to practice drawing up, but on some dimensions when I put it in alters some others!  So how can I stop that happening?  Also is there away of altering the the dimensions from the drawing screen rather than the primary dimensions box?

Your help will be most appreciated.

Thank you

Darren
